Description

Its stage measures 12 meters wide by 15 deep, with two cameras, one black and the other blue, its mouth curtain is red; in addition to a blue curtain that works as a jacket. It has 39 rods for the scenery and lights; it also has a pit for the orchestra. At the back of the stage there are 8 dressing rooms and a quick-change dressing room on one side; on the second floor there are two cabins for controlling the lights and sound.

Playa Santa Lucía.

Description

ThIn Santa Lucia the barrier and the coastline to the sea, reaches depths of up to 3 meters. Corals allow the preservation of a great variety of fish and an enviable marine flora for underwater diving and surface fishing. Another of the virtues of Santa Lucía is to have conserved the largest population of pink flamingos in the Caribbean in its surroundings and nearby keys. One of the most coveted areas is La Boca, adjacent to the access channel to the Bay of Nuevitas, one of the largest in Cuba. Semi-isolated place, close to a picturesque fishing village.

Plaza del Carmen.

Description

One of the most important squares in the city. Its greatest charm is the life-size sculptural ensemble where the Camagüey artist Martha Jiménez, who also has her gallery in this square, recreated the life and customs of the community. Also noteworthy are the Iglesia del Carmen, an architectural jewel of Camagüey and the only one with 2 towers in the city, the original colonial style houses, galleries, different restaurants, etc. There are many reasons to visit this square, considered the second most conserved Colonial Complex of the fourth Cuban town, founded by the Spanish five centuries ago.

Plaza de San Juan de Dios.

Description

The wide Plaza San Juan de Dios, is one of the most characteristic corners of the City of Camagüey and the only square in which the original layout and buildings have been preserved. His designation comes from the old San Juan de Dios Convent-Hospital, managed by Father José Olallo, who later became the first saint of Cuba. In it, there is also the Church of San Juan de Dios with its floor and roof still original, which has the humanized representation of the Holy Trinity of the father, the son and the holy spirit, unique in Cuba and Latin America.

Description

Building built in 1920 and located 100 meters from the central Agramonte Park and the Cathedral, eclectic style, recreates in its setting the links of Sevillian culture with Camaguey. Its location facilitates access to the main restaurants, theaters, museums, cinemas and art galleries in the city. Iglesia de la Merced

Description

The Church of Our Lady of Mercy, built in 1748, is notable for its architecture. Its barrel vaults, of strong Romanesque heritage, were made of brick. It was a pride of the ancient inhabitants to say that only wood had been used in the doors and windows in the temple. Its slender and solid tower is one of the most beautiful in Cuba. Local legends frame its origin and reconstruction. One says that there, near a lake and a forest, superstitiously feared, in a few days a whitewashed hermitage appeared, by divine action, cared for by the corresponding religious. The second, that the current temple builder mysteriously disappeared upon completion. One version gives it as a heavenly punishment, because he used the plans destined for another sanctuary; another, that the Devil took him, because he sold his soul to be able to erect the magnificent work; and the third, that they were robbers, aware of the good payment that the Mercedarians had given him for his work. It appears as one of the models of the consolidation and constructive stability achieved during the 18th century in the religious and civil orders, a stage that was stylistically characterized by the influences of Baroque and Mudejar art, in combination with the Cuban construction tradition.
