Hotel inaugurated in 2012 in San Juan de los Remedios, recognized as the eighth oldest village in Cuba, founded in 1578 and known as the birthplace of Parrandas, possibly the largest and oldest traditional Cuban festival. Its long history is particularly evident in the center of the city (declared a National Historic Monument in 1980), where 17th-century Spanish architecture can still be found almost intact. Hotel Barcelona, which is only one block away from the Hotel Mascotte, shares its privileged location in front of the Plaza Mayor, which is the only one in Cuba where 2 churches are located, one of them being the main attraction of the city, the Parochial Mayor of San Juan Bautista, which contains 13 altars beautifully decorated in gold, and the other church known as "Nuestra Señora del Buen Viaje". It has 24 rooms, 9 of them are matrimonial, 5 junior suits and 1 for disabled people.
