Pinar del Rio
The westernmost province of Cuba, also known as Cuba’s Garden, hosts two of the four Biosphere Reserves of the country’s areas of land and water ecosystems, recognized for their biological diversity, as well as for their contribution to international biodiversity.
Plenty of rivers and gorgeous caverns, added to the fact that out of its unique soil grows the best tobacco in the World, make Pinar del Río a very attractive place to visit. This is the sole habitat on Earth of the “Cork Palm” (Microcycas Calocoma), regarded a “living fossil”.
Out of the Northern coastline several keys and islets offer relaxation, fishing and diving facilities, and a wide selection of water sports.
